The long awaited pictures

At long last, the pictures are here as promised, although a little late!!!

This card is an acetate sheet with an xmas peel-off finished with a midnight clue card blank inserted underneath to give the effect of a night sky.

The reindeer in this card have been attached to a disc behind the first panel which makes the reindeer spin and move from one end of the card to another as you tip the card up and down, aptly named a slider card.

This is simply a set of 5 thank you cards embellished with acetate pictures.

These are actully part of a set of 26 xmas miniture cards for my daughter to hand out at christmas to her classmates.

This is a keepsake set for a new baby. The card is a gate fold 10cm card in brown and beige, making it suitable for a new boy or girl. The front two 'doors are embellished with fabric teddy bears and the words new baby and the inside is has a new baby verse mounted inside. The candle has a larger version of the fabric teddy on one side with the words 'a new baby' on the opposite side. The other 2 sides are embellished with gold peel-off baby booties.

So there you go,much longer than expected but they are finally here.

I don't believe it

As promised, I took pictures of all of my latest projects, switched the computer on, plugged in the camera and...................the camera has decided that it will no longer work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lately I have noticed that the pictures were not coming out at the same quality that they always had and now I am thinking that it was my cameras way of telling me it was going to 'die'.
So I have reserved a new camera online tonight and I will be marching down to the high street tomorrow to pick it up. Luckily the pictures automatically save to the memory card,so all I have to do is put the memory card in the new camera when I get it.
I am determined that these pictures will be uploaded, even if it kills me....

On a Roll!!

Well I know I haven't posted much lately but I have a very good reason. I have been bitten by the inspiration bug and have been busy beavering away making and creating.
I have finally managed to get in gear and go for it,resulting in lots of new projects.
And to prove it,by the end of the day I will have the pictures uploaded.......promise!

Will it ever end!!

Hi all

Question...Why is it that when we have so much to do,we end up ill?!
I was adamant that my website would be up and running by the end of October, but have recently been hit by a bug which has put me out of action for a week. A week?,I hear you say, that's not so bad but on top of looking after the house and the kids, tying up loose ends at work so I can take my maternity leave AND trying to make enough stock to open the website, a week feels like forever.
Still, I have had chance to sit down with pen and paper and do all the 'boring and uncreative' stuff involved with getting my website off the ground and I can see the light!!!!
I am determined to get out some of the cards that I have managed to make and take some snaps so you can see what I have been up to!!

A drive in the country

Aaaah, sunday afternoon and I'm still feeling rather relaxed from yesterday.
What started out as a quick drive up to the local Sainsbury's ended in a family day out in Kent!!
With some food supllies in the back of the car and several cd's just for good measure we headed up down the M20 towards Kent.
Although the weather left a lot to be desired,it was unbelievably refreshing to see all the cows, sheep and other animals freely roaming the countryside.
And with the help of the internet on my phone we managed to find a local craft centre that was a treasure cove for any crafter.
With bags full of materials and 'inspiration' we found a nice spot for dinner a cosy cup of hot chocolate before headeing back to the car and finding our way back home. So now, with lots of new 'toys' to play with, I'm off for an afternoon of crafting and making a start on the christmas rush!!

Things are getting crazy

Hi guys.
Well I finally got around to writing a new post! Things just seem to be so absolutely hectic in our house at the moment. With school back and up and running now,my days seem to be a blur of school runs,after-school clubs, work, housework and with a baby on the way, buggies, cots and car seats.........oh and not to forget Christmas on the horizon.

My aim for this next month is to (finally) get my website up and running, which will involve a lot of 'creating' and a lot of self promotion. I'm hoping to be able to do a mail drop(although waddling around the street isn't too appealing at present!!)and attending as many craft fairs as possible. So be prepared for lots of pictures of my creations, rants of frustration and constant threats of giving up!!

See you soon

A weekend of relaxation and creativity!!

Last weekend,Sam and I packed an overnight bag, bundled the kids in the car and headed down the M4 in the direction of Reading.
With the intention of visiting my sister-in-law,I had resigned to this weekend being a hectic and noisy one,but to my suprise it turned into a very relaxing and inspiring weekend.

We took in the views of green fields and animals(which in London, are only found on posters)and fresh air, which seemed to do us all the world of good.
Amazingly, I managed to create a few items for my next craft fair and felt truly inspired by my surroundings. So here for you is a taster of some of my latese creations.

Hello From Me

Hi there

I thought I would start of my very first insert on my blog by telling you a little bit about myself.

My name is Emma-Louise and I am a mum to 2 mischievous children and a self-employed accountant.

Between being a mummy and trying to run a company from my hectic home I find a little peace of sanity in crafting.
I focus on jewellery making and beading, however, also occasionally I will make a batch of cards or two!!

Watch this space for my thoughts, pictures and everything else that my mad,mad world produces!

Emma-Lou xx
